  • Why do I need raised loft boarding?

    Standard Loft Boarding is where the loft boards are fitted directly onto the loft joists or onto a heavy timber subframe. It is effectively a DIY method of boarding a loft and isn’t suitable for an insulated loft at all let alone a new build loft. It can also lead to damp and condensation. Standard Loft Boarding has not been recommended for lofts since 2013, this is why you should always install a raised system.

  • How much will it cost to board my loft for storage?

    It’s difficult to say without providing a survey as lofts come in all shapes and sizes! We install daily from £600-3500 depending on your requirements and the options you choose. The average cost of our installations is £1200-2000.

  • Do you require a deposit?

    No, we do not require our customers to pay for the service before we’ve provided it. So instead, as a part of our 100% satisfaction guarantee, you pay on the day when you are fully satisfied with our work.

  • Do I need to be present on the day of my installation?

    All staff are fully employed by the company and carry out installations frequently where we’ve been granted access to the property without homeowners being present throughout the duration. We understand and appreciate your concerns and will always work with you to suit your preferences.

  • How long will my installation take?

    Depending on the size of your attic and your requirements, our installations can take up to anywhere from 1 - 3 days. We also take a massive amount of pride in delivering a high-quality finish which means our attention to detail and customer service is unbeatable.

  • Do you offer a lifetime warranty?

    No, we provide a 5 year warranty, at Loft Boarding South Wales we only make promises that we can actually keep. We would never dream of making false promises, designed simply as a marketing tool. We believe it’ll be unrealistic to guarantee any kind of attic work for longer than 5 years and here’s why:

    • The majority of customer service calls we’re called out to attend are for service work required to loft ladders. This is simply due to having moving parts. The more an item is used, the more work the components are doing. We take this into consideration when calculating our guarantee period.

    • The home may have been sold and the new homeowner would not have received all relevant information directly from us, and the fault may have been caused through unintentional misuse.

    • Other trade-related work may have been completed within the loft over an extended period of time which means the likelihood of third party interference to our products could be the cause of any fault.
